Who is wearing #19 in 2015?

Adam Mitcheson

Hometown: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Year: Redshirt-Freshman

Position: Kicker

High School: Kiski Area

Freshman (2014): Mitcheson redshirted

Outlook: UB's website says Mitcheson will challenge for the starting job in 2015...but he's the only kicker on roster...so they are technically right, however it seems UB media relations doesn't have much faith in young Adam.

Kidding aside, Mitcheson is best known for not flinching while Corbin Grassman snapped a ball at a bottle on his head. Being unflinching is definitely a good sign for the future Bulls kicker and UB fans can breathe easy knowning when the pressure is on, our kicker is level headed.

#19 UB Football Game

September 28, 2002 - UB 32, Ohio 34

Kickers are very important. After falling behind 21-3, UB outscored Ohio 29-6.  Andre Forde caught 12 balls for 202 yards and 2 TDs and quarterback Randall Secky threw 43 times completing 29 for 350 yards and 3 TDs.

The game came down to a few stops and misses. After driving 71 yards, UB was stopped on the 5 and forced to kick a field goal leaving 4 points off the board. After UB's first touchdown, UB missed the extra point, leaving a 5th point off the board. UB attempted a 2-pt conversion and failed, a 6th point off the board and after getting the ball on 33 down 29-31, UB was stopped at the 12, settling for the two point lead on a Dallas Pelz field goal, UB's 9th point left off the board.

Unfortunately, Ohio drove down to the 25 and set up the game winning Kevin Kerr field goal with seconds left. Had UB hit all their extra points, the game would have been tied, and had UB put all their points on the board, it would have been a comfortable UB win. That said, the play of Secky and Forde and the frantic almost comeback made the game one of the most exciting in UB history.
