#13 UB Football Game - 2nd half
October 2, 2010 - UB 28, BGSU 26
UB opened the 2nd half with two consecutive TD drives. Jerry Davis threw 8 times completing 5 passes for 64 yards and TD passes to Marcus Rivers and Terrel Jackson, with Jeffvon Gill adding 36 yards on 7 carries. With UB moving in to seal the game with 10 minutes remaining, Jerry Davis threw his fourth interception of the day, this one returned 82-yards for a BGSU touchdown. Fortunately, the 2-pt conversion failed, making the score 28-19. Following a 3 and out and an 11-yard punt, BGSU needed only 4 plays and 97 seconds to make the score 28-26.
With 4:33 remaining, BGSU started at their own 28 and drove 17 yards before facing 4th and 6. Their atempt fell incomplete but Sherrod Lott was called for pass interference. On 3rd and 8 from the 40, Anel Montanez and Gordon Dubois combined for a sack that pushed BGSU back to midfield. On 4th and 18, Lott went from goat to hero as he intercepted BGSU's desperation heave.
With 86 seconds remaining, all UB had to do was run out the clock. on their second play, Ike Nduka fumbled, UB's sixth turnover of the game, giving BGSU the ball at the 24, in position for a 41-yard game winning field goal. Presumably not wanting to give UB time to respond, instead of advancing the ball, BGSU pulled the clock down to 4 seconds and set up for a 39-yard field goal. The attempt sailed wide right, and UB somehow escaped with a win.
