Who is wearing #22 in 2015?

Diamond Williams

Hometown: Watertown, New York

Year: Redshirt-Sophomore

Position: Safety

High School: Watertown

Freshman (2013): Diamond walked-on and redshirted

Redshirt-Freshman (2014): Diamond played in 10 games on special teams.

Outlook: Diamond is moving to Safety to avoid the stockpile of running back talent. With the lack of experience depth in the UB secondary, Diamond has the chance to compete for playing time next year after learning his new position this year.

#22 UB Football Game

November 4, 2000 - UB 20, Kent 17 (OT)

Coach Craig Cirbus was fired on Monday, but would finish the season. Behind Joe Freedy's 322 yards passing, UB took a 14-10 lead into the fourth quarter. However a Freedy interception set up Kent for a TD and a 17-10 Kent lead. UB missed a 39-yard attempt to tie the game, however with under a minute remaining UB drove to the 8 yard line and converted on 4th and 1, but was unable to drive it into the end zone for the win. UB settled for a field goal from the 5. The kick was tipped, but it still went through the uprights forcing the game into overtime.

In overtime, UB's Matt Keller kicked a 38 yard field goal to give UB a 20-17 lead. On Kent's offensive try, they moved the ball to the 4, but the 21-yard field goal to keep the game going hit the upright and fell no good. Giving UB their second win of the year and the first overtime win in school history.
