Buffalo Bulls Recruiting Defensive Line

Mark L. Baer-US PRESSWIRE

For the past several seasons coach Jappy Oliver has worked with Lou Tepper on developing a hybrid 3-4 defense which features a "drop linebacker". That line produced an NFL draft pick and with the thread of Khalil Mack put COlby Way in the top 10 sack bringers throughout UB History.

Oliver moved on to Virginia after the season and Buffalo hired Chris Cosh to take over as the defensive line coach. It will fall on him to help continue a tradition that has put two Buffalo Bulls into the NFL during the modern Era.

Two of UB's defensive line commitments came very early in the season as Jake Khoury committed to the Bulls back in June and August "Gusty" Schwartzmeier followed just two days later.

This years defensive line commitments looked stable until Randy Anyanwu, the recipient of many FBS offers, decommitted from Western Kentucky and then verbaled to Buffalo towards the end of January.
