With the Jon Jones hype train going at full-steam ahead after his impressive 5th place finish at the USATF Championships in Eugene, Oregon, and qualifying for the Pan-American Games in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the process. It turns out that Jones won't be the only Bull representing the Blue and White in the games held from July 10th-26th.

Incoming wrestling recruit Nate Rose will be competing for his native Trinidad and Tobago in the 97 kg weight class in freestyle wrestling. Rose qualified for the games after posting a 5th place finish in the Pan-American Championships back in April which were held in Santiago, Chile. Rose lost his opening round match to Abraham Coney, who would go on to finish in the runner-up spot losing to former Kent State wrestler and NCAA Champion Dustin Kilgore; but, he would rebound during the repechage round and dominate Marcos Manuel of Puerto Rico to advance on and earn enough points to finish 5th.

In a few weeks when Rose takes to the mats in Toronto, he'll be competing alongside and with some of the top wrestlers form North and South American countries including: the USA, Venezuela, Mexico, Canada, among others. The international experience that Rose will be gaining will also be a vital tool for his development, giving him an edge over some of the other wrestlers that he'll be facing throughout his career, including those he'll be competing with for time on the UB Wrestling squad.

Rose will also be competing in the World Freestyle Championships in Las Vegas in September before beginning his UB Wrestling career in late October or early November.

Go Bulls!
