Men's, Women's Tennis kick off fall season, joining rest of Buffalo Olympic Sports

Matt Gritzmacher

Get ready, because this Saturday is not only the busiest of the year so far, but by pure number of games and competitions, is the busiest we'll see UB til the spring.

You know about football's trip to Penn State and UB's coming national audience on ESPN2. Literally every other fall team is in action, too, including Men's and Women's Tennis kicking off their fall schedules.

Everyone's in a different place, too. Men's Soccer is looking to bounce back, while the women are looking for some game-to-game consistency. Cross Country is literally working up to speed and will likely have the full team in action. Volleyball has a good chance at their first win and a less tough slate than their first two weekends.

We haven't run a preview for Men's and Women's Tennis, since they get the majority of their action in the spring, but the Men add one freshman in Ethan Nittolo, and the Women add three - we were only expecting one - in Chantal Martinez Blanco of Puerto Rico, Mercedes Losada Rubio of Grenada (which is spelled this way, not 'Granada,' as you might see elsewhere), and Sanjana Sudhir, of India.
