Here is my personal list of the top UB sports moments of the decade of the 2010s. These are moments — which could be a single play, or a game, or a reaction to a game, that I look back on fondly. So, using that criteria, a seven-overtime football game which Buffalo lost is not something that I look back on fondly, and so its not on the list, although by any other criteria, it was a memorable game.

WBB: 2016 MAC Championship Game, #8 Buffalo against #2 Central Michigan. There's 3.4 seconds left in overtime, the score is tied, and UB has a throw-in from the front court. Stephanie Reid dribbles around a screen from Cassie Oursler, and makes a running bank shot and the Bulls go "from eighth place to history". It is WBB's first ever MAC title. Reid is the tournament MVP.
-
Later that same day, MBB 2016 MAC Championship game, #3 Buffalo against #1 Akron. UB's Blake Hamilton hits a three to tie the game at 61 with about 1:30 left. There is no scoring until Hamilton hits a wide open three from the corner with two seconds left to give the Bulls a 64–61 lead, and then for good measure Hamilton steals the in-bounds pass to finish the victory. It was the second MAC Championship for MBB.

WBB: NCAA Tournament Second Round, 2018, #11 Buffalo against #3 Florida State, on Florida State's home court. Buffalo runs away from the Seminoles in the second half and Buffalo wins by 21 to advance to the Sweet 16. Cierra Dillard hits a three pointer in the second half and does the shimmy on her way down court.
-
MBB: NCAA Tournament First Round, 2018, #13 Buffalo against #4 Arizona. The Bulls have never won an NCAA Division I tournament game. The game is tight until early in the second half, when the Bulls simply run away from the Wildcats, and win by 21. Jeremy Harris hits a three-pointer and windmills his arm — "keep it going" as he runs down court.
-
WBB: Buffalo at Northern Illinois, 2018. The Bulls have never led, but have tied the game at 59 with 1.4 seconds left, and UB has a throw-in underneath the opposite basket. Dillard throws a dead-nuts perfect 90 foot pass to Summer Hemphill, who lays the ball in at the buzzer.
-
FB: Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl, 2019, Buffalo against Charlotte. UB running back Jaret Patterson runs for 198 yards and two touchdowns, and Buffalo wins 31–9, their first ever bowl victory.
-
MBB: Senior night 2012, Bowling Green at Buffalo. The Bulls climb back from a 9 point deficit late in the second half to win by 4, as senior Mitchell Watt scores a number of key baskets down the stretch. Immediately after the game ends, the fans stream onto the court, lift Watt up above their shoulders, and chant "MVP", as Watt gives the "horns up" signal with both hands.
-
VB: Buffalo at Akron, 2017. UB defensive specialist Hannah Watson dives head first over the scorer's table to save a point, and then gets stuck and can't extract herself. The Bulls eventually win the point with five players on the court. Watson's dive makes ESPN Sportscenter's Top 10 Plays.
-
FB: Buffalo at Temple, 2018. With the score tied at 29, and about a minute left, UB quarterback Tyree Jackson hits wide receiver Anthony Johnson over the middle. Johnson makes a cut, fights off several defenders, and then one more cut into the end zone to give the Bulls a touchdown and the win
-
WSWIM: MAC Tournament, 2018 — UB senior Megan Burns wins both the 50 meter and 100 meter freestyle, both for the fourth straight year. No other MAC swimmer has ever won three titles in the two sprint events.
-
MBB: Buffalo at West Virginia 2018. CJ Massinburg hits for 43 points, including 15 in overtime, going 9-for-15 from three point land for the game, as Buffalo upsets WVU. It was the moment that said "this team is for real" and the Bulls go on to be ranked in the top 25 most of the season.
-
VB: Senior night, Miami at Buffalo, 2019. The Bulls have knocked off perennial MAC power Bowling Green 3–1 the night before, they have also defeated two other top teams in the MAC over the past two weeks. Now they face the top team in the MAC in Miami, and Buffalo plays very well, defeating the Redhawks 3–2 (15–9 in the fifth set). It's best weekend in UB Volleyball history since they joined the MAC.
