Behind 27 points from Jayvon Graves had 27 points Buffalo buried Toledo in the first half and coasted to an 83-67 victory over Toledo.
The game was back and fourth for the first five minutes until Jeenathan Williams made a jumper that kicked off a six minute 17-0 Buffalo run. From there UB cruised into the half with a 52-28 lead.
It was a half in which the Bulls could do no wrong.
During the first half the Bulls shoot 62.9% from the floor and 77.8% from 3-point range, they were clean with the ball on offense and smothered Toledo when the rocket had the ball.
For Toledo’s part the rockets came out in the second half on fire, They knocked 10 points off their 24 point deficit in the first seven minutes of the half. But UB found their footing and weathered the Toledo run.
Both Josh Mballa and Jeenathan Williams each had 12 points, and Antwain Johnson had 10 points and seven rebounds.
UB did it on a night when Brock Bertham (sick) and David Nickelberry (concussion protocol) were both scratched from the lineup.
Buffalo plays Ball State at home on Tuesday. It’s a huge game in terms of seeding for the MAC tournamnt.
