Nick Sinay - Sinay is making the most of his second year in Bluefield. He spent the last offseason getting his arm ready for the outfield.

"I knew some of the weaknesses that I had. Last year my arm in the outfield wasn’t where it needed to be," said the 22-year-old Sinay, who has played left and right field for Bluefield. "In the offseason I worked a lot to strengthen my arm and this year I can definitely see a tremendous difference with my arm. It has gotten a lot stronger and I am getting to the bases, backspin the ball and being able to throw out more runners, be more of a threat in the outfield.

At the plate, he has been very consistent. Sinay is hitting at 300 on the year.

Mike Burke - Burke just keeps pitching strong in relief. In one outing this past week the right-hander threw three scoreless innings in which he gave up 2 hits and struck out three.

His ERA on the year is just 0.48 and he has 20 strikeouts against eight hits.

Tom Murphy - Murphy's funk continued for most of the week but there is hope that he is breaking out of his worst career slump. After going 2 for 17 over the first part of the Week he went 3 for 4 in a game on July First.

Steve Geltz - Steve Geltz picked up a save in his first action back in Durham he also ended the week with a good short relief game. In between, he got dinged for a couple of runs and four hits against Norfolk.

Mike Kaelin - It's been a quiet week for Kaelin because after three games the Angles have decided to move him from Orem (rookie) to the Burlington Bees (A).

The Burlington Bees, based in Burlington, Iowa, have played in the Midwest League since 1962. They play in the Community Field in Burlington, Iowa. It's the same league in which Jason Kanzler played while he was with the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
