Jackson was a huge pull for former Buffalo Coach Jeff Quinn. The Mona Shores signal caller was so proficient in the backfield that as the season went on he received offers from other MAC schools and even got a visit and offer from some P5 programs. While Quinn did most of the heavy lifting here, Lance Leipold owns some credit from holding onto this dynamic quarterback. On an unofficial visit to Buffalo over the summer Jackson had a chance to connect with some of his fellow recruits. He called Duke Hwang, Matt Seybert, and Brandon Smiley parts of a positive experience which convinced him his college years should be spent at Buffalo. Bringing Jackson to Buffalo over an offer from Western Michigan and interest from several other MAC schools fell mostly on UB Coach Keegan Jones. The interest kept coming as Jackson was earning the Muskegon's Dream Team Player of the Year honor. The award was granted after 11 games through which Tyree was 119-for-192 passing for 2,023 yards and 22 touchdowns. On the ground, he had 810 yards and 14 touchdowns, adding that dimension to the Sailors’ offense as the season went on. /td> |
