NCAA Recruiting William White to Buffalo

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

William White is a recruit from Cass Tech High School in Detroit, Michigan.

Since 1990 the "Technicians" have had five kids go on to be drafted in the NFL, and two more have reached the highest level via Free Agency. Coach Thomas Wilcher has been with Cass Tech for 14 years and he has sent more than a few players to Buffalo.

White will be joining Brandon Berry, William Rembert, Dalton Barksdale, and Gary Hosey as the Cass contigent with the Bulls. The first three are already Bulls and Hosey will be signing his letter of intent this February along with White.

White was part of a tremendous defense which led Cass Tech to two state championships. The Linebacker is listed as a three star recruit by ESPN and graded an 82 by the recruiting service 247. He picked Buffalo over offers from Indiana, Toledo, Temple, Cincinnati, and Miami of Ohio. White has also been getting recruited by Iowa and Michigan State among others.

According to White the success of Khalil Mack helped pique his interest in UB. When asked about his interactions with Mack White said when he talked to the first round prospect Mack gave had some very "inspiring words". White believes that with a strong enough work ethic and the right mindset he can eventually grow into a defender at Mack's level.

Like many of the recruits I've talked to White singled out UB coach Jeff Quinn's "family vibe" among the coaches and it plays out well for the team. Former defensive line Coach Jappy Oliver was one of White's primary recruiters but both coach Tuke and the the "head man" coach Jeff Quinn all sold White on Buffalo.

And selling Buffalo to Cass Tech players seems to be getting easier with time. The Detroit magnet school which requires an entrance exam to attend produces solid players and solid students. On top of their academic credentials White believes that the players see the Buffalo program as a rising program on which Cass Tech talent can place their stamp.

What stands about Buffalo to cass tech players is the school in general it's just a program that's on the rise to and road of big things - William White
