Buffalo Football's James O'Hagan named to Rimington Award Watch List

UB Athletics

On the heels of Mason Schreck's inclusion on the Mackey Watch List, UB Football added another notch of national recognition this afternoon, as sophomore center James O'Hagan has been added to the Rimington Trophy watch list.

The Rimington Trophy, named after former Nebraska Cornhusker Dave Rimington, is awarded to the nation's top center at the conclusion of the season. O'Hagan made news earlier this year when he was included on the Trophy's spring watch list.

O'Hagan started all 12 games as a redshirt-freshman in 2015 after originally coming to Buffalo to play for Jeff Quinn. Like many of Quinn's recruits to the line, O'Hagan was also a wrestler in high school, a New York State champion and one of the top heavyweights in the country.

James should once again anchor the young line for a full season, helping to protect a new face at quarterback, whether it's Grant Rohach or Tyree Jackson.

Among other MAC schools, only Bowling Green also has a representative on the list.
