Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

UB Sophomore James O'Hagan was named to the Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List, as announced by the the Rimington Trophy Committee earlier this morning. The Dave Rimington Trophy is awarded every year to the College player considered to be the best center of the season. Dave Rimington was a center who played at the University of Nebraska from 1979 to 1982.

O'Hagan was recruited to Buffalo by Jeff Quinn back in 2013. He played at Seaford High School where he was also the states number one heavyweight wrestler and one of top 20 heavyweights in the nation.

In a year when there are a lot of question on UB's line O'Hagan stands out as the only returning player who started all 12 games of 2015. Already as a Sophomore at UB he has a leadership role on the line as UB tried to get back to a Bowl for the first time since 2013

Since its inception, the Rimington Trophy has raised over $2.6 million for the cystic fibrosis community. The award is overseen by the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which is committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis and has raised over $120 million for the fight against cystic fibrosis.
