Best Defense in the MAC put’s seven on the All Conference teams

The Mid American conference named it’s all conference teams today and Buffalo defense put seven players on the three teams.

First Team:

Taylor Riggins and Malcolm Koonce anchored the best line in the MAC. Buffalo’s defense led the conference in sacks and the team really spread the wealth around. There was no UB pass rusher that opponents could try to isolate.

Joey Banks also made the first team unit. Banks’ nose for the play and his love of contact make him one of the most impactful defenders I’ve ever seen in any UB secondary.

Second Team:

Kadofi Wright and Ledarius Mack made the second team. I believe that Mack could have easily been on the first team, but with two other UB pass rushers on that unit the voters could not sneak him in.

Mack leads the conference in solo sacks and is fourth in total sacks.

Tyrone Hill also made the second team, he was 13th over all in passes defended.

Third Team:

Chibueze Onwuka is the only UB player on the third team. Onwuka was 22nd in sacks, and one of those players who forced defenses to worry about the entire Buffalo front seven.
