How He Came To Buffalo
Kunick played high school ball in Victor NY and did not managed to secure a D1 offer coming out of school. He walked on with the Bulls in 2016, and earned a spot on the team.
While at Buffalo he’s not seen the field, in part due to a spat of injuries. But Kunick has been a hard worker for the Bulls.
One of the greatest feelings as a coach is watching kids improve. Austin Kunick battled injuries all Winter, doesn’t get to play during the games, couldn’t bench 275 in the winter and just benched 225x30 reps! Incredible story he is! Go Bulls! pic.twitter.com/f3einEn1PD

He’s also made a point of being there for the community, including visits with young children in pediatric wards before last years Bowl game.
Kunick had to fight against Leukemia when he was four and a half years old.
Austin is one of those guys who’s name you won’t see in stat books but has has put in the work and team building at Buffalo that has produced the most winning senior class in the schools FBS history.
