UB needed a few things to go their way yesterday to assure a trip to a bowl game, unfortunately it seems like nearly everything went wrong and now the future of this season rests on the ability of the MAC Commissioner and Allen Green to sell UB.
It will take a Herculean effort on their part to get bowls for the Bulls. Right now everything is stacked against it happening.
There is room for 78 teams to play a post season game, right now there are 79 eligible teams. There are three more who get one more shot at it.
Florida State plays Louisiana–Monroe, Louisiana-Lafayette plays Appalachian State, and New Mexico State plays South Alabama. I expect that at least two more from that three will join in, pushing the number to 81.
To further complicate things there are tie in, and secondary agreements all over the place.
It’s a complex picture but at the end of the day the MAC has some leg work to do for UB. Current projections have us left out of the mis.
