Minor League Monday - Tom Murphy awarded by the 'Topes and Steve Geltz promoted by the Rays

Jennifer Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Steve Geltz - Durham (AAA) -> Tampa Bay

It's been more than a month since Geltz gave up a run in Durham. That pulled his sagging ERA from around six to 3.38 and it appears it's been noticed by the Tampa Bay Rays.

Geltz was recalled to Tampa this weekend and hopefully he can shake off the terrible time he had earlier this sesaon.

Tom Murphy - Albuquerque  (AAA)

Murphy was named the Isotopes "Power Hitter Of The Year" this week

And he's been hitting well this week but it's not been enough to help Albuquerque make up ground on El Paso. Despite Murphy going 5-13, the 'Topes are not making up ground and it looks like they may miss the post season.

Mike Burke - Delmarva (A+)

Burke had a mixed week. He gave up a single run against Hagerstown. That run ended up being the one which costs the Shorebirds the game and handed Burke his third loss of the season.

Then last night against Lexington Burke pitched the last out and earned a save.

Nick Sinay - Bluefield (Rok)

Sinay leads the Appalachian League in steals and his OBP is .778. Overall a very good season for Sinay but will it be enough for him to move up to A ball next year?

Mike Kaelin - Burlington Bees (A)

Kaelin pitched two, two-inning stints last week and gave up a run in each. But he did not get tagged with a loss and still maintains a 1-1 record with a very good 2.20 ERA.

Blair Lakso - Fort Myers (Rok)

Lakso officially signed this week with the Twins down in Fort Myers this weekend. I'm not seeing him on the Miracle roster just yet so he may not get into any game action this season.
