Buffalo Bulls Playing Professional Baseball

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Steve Geltz ( AAA Durham -> Tampa Bay )

Geltz had one game in Durham where he put in a solid inning as the Bulls downed the Bisons 5-0. Then some injury problems in Tampa Bay led the Rays to call Geltz back up to the bigs.

Following Demotion, Geltz Ready To Prove Himself Again
With two key pieces of the bullpen still dealing with injuries in Ryan Webb (right pectoral strain) and Brad Boxberger (left oblique), the latter of which is still going to miss 4-6 weeks, Geltz is back and being given a second chance to prove himself, a chance he isn't planning on wasting.

And he came up with something to prove

Since coming back up Geltz has pitched in two games, totaling 1.1 innings and not giving up a hit while striking out two batters.

Tom Murphy ( AAA Alberqueque )

Murphy has been having a rough time early in the season but this past seven or eight days has been solid. Eight days ago he won the game for the Topes with a walk-off home run in the 12th.

His last two games of the week Murphy finished 3 of 8 with no strikeouts. Getting that hits to strikeout ratio down is key if he wants to make the next step.

Mike Burke ( A+ Frederick -> Short-A Aberdeen )

Burke played three games for the Frederick Keys and in those games, he was 1-0 with a save and a 1.83 ERA. Some of the better numbers on the Keys roster. But when the short A season kicked in he was sent to Aberdeen, presumably so he can get in more innings of work.

In hist first outing of the year with the Ironbird Burke pitched 3.1 innings to earn a save over Hudson Valley.

Overall in A ball this season Burke is 1-0 with two saves and a 0.79 ERA.

Nick Sinay ( Short-A Vancouver )

Sinay was officially added to the Vancouver Canadians roster and on Sunday night he played his first game, starting in left field. He was 1-5 on the day with an RBI single in the seventh inning.

Mike Kaelin ( Rookie Orem )

Kalin's deal was inked and he is in Orem waiting for his first chance to pitch.
