March 7, 2005 - Men's MAC First Round - Alumni Arena, Buffalo NY - Buffalo 73, Northern Illinois 66

In a rematch of the previous year's Sea of Blue II game, UB Basketball took on NIU at Alumni Arena. Buffalo was thought to be better than their 7th place finish, but their play didn't give UB fans too much confidence. A 34-30 halftime UB lead became a 61-60 deficit with 5 minutes remaining. UB however flashed the defense that wins championships, as NIU missed their next five shots and UB went on an 8-0 run to take a 68-61 lead. UB hit their free throws and earned their second consecutive trip to Cleveland.

March 7, 2010 - Men's MAC First Round - Alumni Arena, Buffalo NY - Buffalo 72, Toledo 54

The 17-11 #5 Bulls took on the 4-27 #12 Toledo Rockets. A game that seemed like a waste of time on paper, was a waste of time. UB started the game with a 7-0 run, and never trailed. UB led by 13 at the half behind 9 points from Calvin Betts.

Max Boudreau scored 14 points in the second half and led all scorers with 18 points while Sean Smiley and Calvin Betts scored 13. UB cruised to Cleveland with only one player who played more than 30 minutes against Toledo. They would face the team they lost to days earlier, the #4 Miami RedHawks.
