Buffalo Hockey Looking to Nationals

It looks like the Bulls got all the help they needed to secure an at large bid for nationals! I don't like to enjoy the misfortunes of others but Illinois and Mercyhurst just made the Bull Run Christmas card list. UB was ranked #20 in the last poll and needed to climb two spots to qualify for the last at large bid.

And they did exactly that according to the ACHA rankings that were released tonight.

#18 Mercyhurst lost to Rochester and dropped a non league game to the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots. At the same time Iowa State did UB a solid and swept a two game series with #19 Illinois.

Meanwhile our SUNY Brothers at Stony Brook tried to help even more by sweeping #17 Rhode Island. Turns out that sweep, while nice, was not needed to move UB into nationals.

There is still one more game for UB before the final rankings come out so the team has to remain focused but a trip to Nationals is theirs for the taking.

This years Nationals will be hosted by the University of Delaware from March 6th to 11th at the Fred Rust Arena in Newark (The one in Delaware).

Tickets for the 24th ACHA championship tournament are $15 for adults, $7 for children ages 6 - 17 and free for children ages 5 & under per day.  The final Championship game (Tuesday-Mach 11) will be $10 for adults and $5 for children.

All games will be broadcast on www.FASTHockey.com though I have not seen the prices yet.

Congrats to the Men... I thought with some of the guys we lost last season this might be a down year and instead UB will be at Nationals.
