-- note - A source close to the situation had told me it was the ACT but Dickerson himself has told Bull Run that the issue was in fact UB's positional needs. Covering these things as they break, especially when UB can not comment, leads to these shifting sands..
Former Buffalo commitment Marquel Dickerson has reportedly decommitted from Buffalo.
"@MarquelD1: I have to decided to decommit from University of Buffalo."

The tweet has been reenforced by a family member who stated that Maurice Linguist UB's new recruiting coordinator first cited the academics and then team needs as the issue. It was not Dickerson's solid 3.4 GPA but supposedly his ACT score which was the first reason presented before the running back was told that the team needed a Tight End or Cornerback.
Dicksron then says he was told by the UB staff that the team was trying to see if they would have another scholarship free up.
Dickerson reopened his status as soon as he was informed of UB's decision. He has been fielding calls from coaches at Vandy and Rutgers and several other FBS programs.
DIckerson had decided to attend UB over an offer from Toledo and committed shortly after an unofficial December 6th visit. In addition to UB's academics he cited a chance to follow in BO's footsteps as a reason for his initial decision.

Dickerson is the second decommitment of the season. The other, Quarterback Zach Abey who decided to attend the Unites States Naval Academy
