In pure numbers, UB’s holding up decently well a third of the way through the season. Some starting contributors have worked back from early dings, and most of the parade of stoppages in the heat last Saturday appear to be cramps and little more.
Position-wise, though, it’s never good to be out your QB1, and Matt Myers hasn’t practiced this week with what Coach Leipold is saying it’s “upper body ... in the neck area, things like that,” which is vague even for NCAA standards.
Zac LeFebvre got back on the field against Miami, and while 2 catches for 19 yards isn’t impressive, it’s notable when UB had only seven completions on the day.
Kadofi Wright similarly saw his first action after hurting his ankle in the opener and after 5 tackles against Miami appears to be back in form for MAC play.
Out for the Year
WR Jovany Ruiz had season-ending surgery prior to the Robert Morris game and will wait to 2020 for his first catch in a Buffalo uniform.
P Evan Finegan suffered a season-ending compound fracture of his tibia and fibula against Penn State. He’s since had a rod placed in his leg and is set to begin rehab.
