Week one of the CFL preseason is done. Every Bull in the league saw the field and here is what happened.
Drew Willy -
Winnipeg's played two games and their first offense looked awful in both contests. If they can't get it together you might start to see some calls for changes but anyone really watching the game sees that the problems for the Bluebombers start, as they have for years, on the offensive line.
But bad line or not it's the QB who will get the negative press.
To be or not to be for Bombers | Blue Bombers | Sports | Winnipeg Sun
Drew Willy's play and the offensive struggles aren't the only question marks surrounding the Bombers with only a few training camp days left.
There are several other queries that need to be answered before the Bombers on Sunday reveal their 46-man roster for their home- and regular-season opener on June 24 against the Alouettes.
Naaman Roosevelt -
Roosevelt has been fantastic in training camps!
McNuggets: Roosevelt a monster at receiver for Roughriders | Regina Leader-Post
On Thursday, Darian Durant hit Roosevelt in stride for a 40-yard touchdown strike. A few plays later, Brett Smith found Roosevelt deep in the end zone for another touchdown. Roosevelt even connected with B.J. Coleman on a reception.
That led up to a mildly productive first preseaosn game.
Ernest Jackson -
It's could be to be easy to lose EJ among four returning receivers who netted more than 1,000 yards last season but if he keeps catching five receptions a game he will still shine through.
Redblacks open pre-season with 18-14 win
Burris connected with Brad Sinopoli on a five-yard pass for a TD and followed that with a two-point conversion toss to Ernest Jackson, giving the Redblacks that 17-3 advantage with less than two minutes to play in the half.
Natey Adjei
Adjei is trying to make his mark, and survive the first round of cuts, in Edmonton. He had a nice ten yard catch this week and on the play drew a 15 yard penalty.
Esks Defeat Stamps - Edmonton Eskimos
Lynch came into the game and hit the ground running with a 15-yard gain, then also showed he’s got an arm, finding Zylstra for a 15-yard gain and Natey Adjei for 10 more to keep the sticks moving. Then Lynch finished the drive with a 10-yard run followed by a one-yard plunge over the goal line.
Jake Silas
He was listed as the second guard on Ottawa's depth chart and did get some action in the REDBLACKS' win over Winnipeg.
Dillon Guy
Guy's in the middle of a dog fight for time on the line. BC has a lot of good players up front and eight of them are Canadian Nationals. BC has indicated they will be starting three nationals on the line.
Lions guard kicked to curb for now - 3DownNation
The Lions plan to start three Canadians up front but still have eight non-imports in camp, including former draft picks T-Dre Player, Jaz Dhillon and Dillon Guy, along with veteran Tim O’Neill, obtained in trade from Hamilton during the off-season, which complicates Fabien’s status further.
