Albany Great Danes vs Buffalo Bulls football: First half recap

+

24-7 at the first half isn't too different I think from what people were expecting.

UB fans had reason for concern early when the Buffalo offense opened the game on a three-and-out and Albany scored on a long touchdown drive.

Since then it's been all Buffalo on both sides of the ball. Taylor (14/92, TD) and Johnson (6/48, TD) are running wild, and Licata (16-22/132, TD) has found eight different receivers.

UB's defense stiffened after Albany's first drive, and the Great Danes had no momentum whatsoever until their final drive of the half, which ended on an Okezie Alozie hurry and Nick Gilbo interception. True freshmen Brandon Stanback, Charles Harris, and Justin Brandon have all seen the field on D.

The most important story of the half, though, is the health of backup safety and UAB transfer Jordan Collier, who was injured on kick coverage in the first half. Collier lay on the field for several minutes, and was taken off the field by ambulance, though reports from the stadium are that he was conscious and moving his extremities.
