Are UB's Branden Oliver and Alex Neutz draftable players?
That question was posed to the Buffalo Bills Coordinator of College Scouting Doug Kajewski
Yeah. Bo Oliver is a shorter, but thick, strong, fast running back that had good production. He’s a good blocker for a smaller statured guy. Neutz has really good production as a pass catcher, he’s got good ball skills. He ran pretty much what everybody expected he’d run, he’s not a 4.4 blazer guy but he’s got good speed, he’s got good athletic ability.
Bo Oliver
For the full story on Bo Oliver with his UB career and draft status, read this great article written by Tim on Bull Run: Great article on Bo Oliver
The draft experts has Bo as the 35 rated RB coming into the draft and 502 overall. With this ranking Bo will likely be an undrafted free agent. Rated higher than Bo and from Western New York native and Toledo running back David Fluellen is rated as the 23 best back and overall in the draft at 304. Another MAC RB from Central Michigan is Zurlan Tipton and is rated 26 and overall 363 and also likely an undrafted free agent. I have to disagree that Zurlan is rated higher than Bo. I would rate Bo in the same realm as Fluellen.
Overall summation on Bo. Bo has been the only workforce for the New York Bulls the past three seasons. Injuries have taken some toll and concerns over how durable Bo can be and if their is any lingering physical issues. Oliver is by far the most uderated player heading into the draft. Bo can be a great competitor and make an impact on Sundays in the NFL. Bo is a highly talented, motivated, hard worker both on and off the field and I hope proves all the prognosticators wrong.
Prediction: Quickly invited to a camp after not being drafted. Will be a tough decision for any team and makes a practice squad
Alex Neutz
News and activity have been slow for Alex. One of the greatest receivers to ever come out of Buffalo, Alex had a great career at UB. Find article with history and story Alex's Pro Day Article. Alex is currently rated the 53rd WR and an overall rating of 287. With 234 players selected in the much prolonged draft, I also predict that Alex will not hear his name being called. Before the UConn game this year I would have thought that Alex would be an immediate call right after the draft. I do see Alex getting a chance to be in a camp. Might not be an immediate call but Alex must stay ready.
I wish good luck to Bo and Alex. I hope that I am wrong and one or both have thier name called. Will we see Bo's and Alex name on the ticker as best player not yet drafter? Stay tuned and enjoy the draft.
