McGee hit the lead batter and walked another to put Keydets on first and second with one out. The next batter hit a double to make the score 2-0.
It was the first time this season that the Bulls trailed in a baseball game.
UB's best chance to gain ground came in the 5th when UB had the bases loaded with two outs but once again Garrett was able to put down a UB batter at the plate.
The Bulls would threaten once more in the 9th when Mike Burke made it around to third but for the second tiem in the game UB was unable to capitalize and a Dudek fly ball to right ended the contest.
Buffalo will get another crack at VMI and a chance to sweep UMES tomorrow when they play another double header. This time it will be the Keydets setting up for a game within an hour of their first and UB will have the fresh legs.
