UB 11 - Maryland Eastern Shore 1

The Buffalo Bulls Baseball team kicked off their doubleheader with a bang by downing Maryland Eastern Shore by a score of 11 to 1. Kevin Hughes got the win, his first since an injury ended his 2012 season and sidelined him for 2013.

Buffalo was first to get on the board in the bottom of the third with a pair of runs.With nobody on and two outs Tyler Mautner his a triple to left field and was quickly brought in by a Richards double to right. Mike Burke hit an rbi single in the next at bat and the Bulls were off.

In the next inning Scarcello would hit a one out single which turned into a double on a UMES throwing error. Topps then brought him in with a single. After he also stole a base and Matt Pollock walked Tyler Mautner hit a home run to help the Bulls plate 4 in the inning.

In the fifth inning UB pushed the score to 8-0 and would keep UMES off the board until the the bottom of the sixth when a lead off single and stolen base eventually cut the score to 8-1.

Hughes was dominating through the early innings. Through four frames he allowed just two hits and a walk while striking out five batters. In the seventh inning Tyler Wilson would take over for Huges.

Mallaro and Pollock hit back to back homers in the eight to put the Bulls into a 10-1 lead. The would tack on one more in the ninth and close the game out with an 11-1 victory.
