Jarryn Skeete scored a career high 19 points including three out of six from the arc, and Tony Watson added 15 more as Buffalo Roared out of the gates to build a 20 point lead about half way through the first half.
The Zips led by Alex Abreu and Demetrius Treadwell, each with 13, clawed their way back into the game and eventually overtook the Bulls for good during an 18-0 run when Abreu fed Jake Kretzer for a Three Point shot.
The Bulls (7-13, 2-4 Mid-American) would go down by 6 points before mounting their own comeback. When Skeete was fouled on a successful three point shout to UB had a chance to tie the game at 62 but Skeete's shot went off the iron.
Akron (15-4,6-0 MAC) are in the middle of an 11 game winning streak and are set to host Ohio in what could be a contest of two undefeated MAC teams.
Three Point Shot... The Good The Bad and the Ugly
The Good - Jarryn Skeete had a career game and if we can manage this kind of effort from him on a semi regular basis this team will be dangerous next year.
The Bad - Those three point shots getting put up about half way through the second. I don't care what the overall numbers are on the night, I don't care how hot your hand is you don't take that straight away three point from 25 feet out without any setup.
Watson and Skeete both went from solid shooters to wild things for about a three minute span and that's all Akron needed to close a 13 point lead after a Technical on Zeke Marshall (To be fair it was a really weak Technical call)
The Ugly - This kid right here!
Naaa... The Real Ugly was UB's inability to adjust at all once Akron went Zone. The Bulls looked completely helpless for the last 12 minutes of the game.
