Just when it started to look like Buffalo would miss out on any half backs this season UB grabbed up Devin Campbell from Boardman High School in Youngstown Ohio. Campbell brings the current class up to 17 verbal commitments. He is the teams eighth offensive player and the fifth from the state of Ohio.

Campbell had been targeted by several FCS schools and pulled in offers from Fordham, Lehigh, and Youngstown. He also made an official visit to Kent State last month but was never offered a scholarship.
During the spring Campbell ran indoor track. Specifically he focused on the the 55 and 60 meter dashes, getting his times down into the mid 6's. On the football field he boasts an impressive 4.4 40.
During his senior season he racked up 1,797 yards rushing/receiving yards and 22 TDs in nine games. His success this season earned him a spot on the The 2011 All federal League team. He is a particularly effective receiving back picking up more than 500 yards ( exact stats differ between recruiting sites) through the air.
This might not be the high profile pickup that UB fans were waiting for but his skill as a receiver, his speed, and a decent frame make this a fundamentally sound investment in the future of UB Backfields.
