Not only has Coach Linguist and company been saddled with getting an existing team up to speed in record time, they have to start building for the future as well. They have started to do that by adding five players in quick order.
It started with Mekhi Lynn, a three star quarterback out of Ohio who was also holding offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Ball State, and Miami. The 63rd ranked quarterback in the nation and the 28th over all player in Ohio, Lynn will first step into the UB lockerroom after Kyle Vantrease has finished his tenure in Buffalo.
A Quarterback is needed, but you gotta throw the ball to someone, and so Linguist and company went and pulled in Mekhi Lynn Nikolas McMillan, a wideout who is currently at Hutchinson community college. He was holding offers from Colorado State, UMass, Akron, and Charlotte.
And to complete the first “skill set” collection Buffalo got a verbal commitment from Jackson Paradis, a running back from New Hampshire. He was holding an offer from Army, and a few FCS schools.
One thing Coach Linguist promised was to go hard after every solid player in Western New York. While the three players above are not there, Nikolas McMillan, a wide out from Canisius is, and he committed a few days after Lynn. He decided to stay home over offers from Akron, CMU, Toledo, and UMass.
We Will talk defense tomorrow, there are a couple of nice prospects already on boards.
