Player Breakdown
Javan White visited Buffalo last week as a potential grad transfer from Clemson. In his one year there he was a reserve to all-ACC big man Elijah Thomas, averaging 2 points and 2 rebounds per game, but was expected to step into a prominent role next year. Prior to his time at Clemson, he nearly averaged a double-double as a sophomore at Oral Roberts, averaging 10.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. White is an athletic rim running big man that would fit well in Buffalo’s system, and could help replace the interior production lost between graduating seniors Nick Perkins and Montell McRae. While the 3-ball is not White’s calling card, he was 6 for 15 (40%) in his sophomore year at Oral Roberts, suggesting that he could be capable of stepping in and knocking down open shots in Buffalo’s free-flowing offense. If White is to commit to Buffalo, he’d likely step in as a day one starter, capable of putting up double-doubles like he did in the Summit League.
