How He Came To Buffalo

Russell is a key part of UB’s defensive backfield that came in as a JUCO from Ellsworth Community College. Before Ellsworth he was an EMU commit from Eastern Christian High School in Elkton, MD.

2017

Russell was a big contributor from the get go. He played in 10 games and started three, totaling 14 tackles and three pass breakups on the season.

2018

Devon missed most of 2018 with an injury but did start two games on the season. In his shortened season managed six tackles, an interception and four pass breakups. Two of those breakups came in the game against Rutgers

2019

Buffalo’s front seven has had a break out season in part because the secondary has frustrated a lot of quarterbacks this season.

Starting at corner this year Devon has stacked up 37 tackles, a sack, and an interception. Perhaps most impressively is the 9 pass breakups he has on the season.
