The Not Everything Is MACtion weekly standings are based on a formula that believes dominating 5 key stats will lead a team to MAC wins.

Standings

Rk Team W/L Ex. MAC Wins Next Week

  1. Western Michigan 4-0 8.95 at Central Michigan
  2. (+3) Toledo 3-0 7.78 at BYU
  3. (+1) Central Michigan 3-1 6.6 vs Western Michigan
  4. (-2) Eastern Michigan 3-1 6.14 at Bowling Green
  5. (-2) Ohio 2-2 5.92 at Miami (OH)
  6. (+1) Ball State 3-1 5.05 vs Northern Illinois
  7. (+1) Akron 2-2 3.74 at Kent State
  8. (+1) Miami 0-4 2.99 vs Ohio (OH)
  9. (+2) Buffalo 1-2 2.19 at Boston College
  10. (-4) Kent State 1-3 1.96 vs Akron
  11. (-1) Northern Illinois 0-4 1.54 at Ball State
  12. Bowling Green 1-3 -3.45 vs Eastern Michigan

Top of the NEIM: Western Michigan remains on top of the NEIM for the second straight week after beating Georgia Southern by 18.

Homer captures the feeling you get when WMU is held 144 yards below their rushing average, but they held one of the best running teams in the nation 154 yards below their average AND Zach Terrell throws for 10 yards per attempt and 4 TDs.

US Route 35 (Route Sadness): While not at the bottom of the NEIM, the MAC’s two winless teams will both play on route 35, NIU in Muncie, Miami hosting Ohio in Oxford. In those games a team will either remain winless or a team will severly damaged their MAC Champ hopes by opening conference play with a loss to a winless team. Either way Route 35 will be Route Sadness.

Bottom of the NEIM: BGSU is at the bottom of the NEIM. Losing to Eastern Michigan is typically the kinda loss that makes you fire your coach. BUT this year’s EMU is not your fathers EMU. Will BGSU rebound? Is EMU for real?

Game of the Week: WMU at CMU Is WMU invincible? Or will the in-state road game trip up the Broncos?
