I have heard an unconfirmed report that UB tailback Jordan Johnson has suffered an injury to his Medial Collateral Ligament and will have to miss the rest of the season. Johnson, a Sophomore, had been sharing backup duty with Devon Campbell and showing great promise.
On the year Johnson had 44 carried for 203 yards, including 20 carries for 97 yards against Baylor.
This is the second time Johnson will lose a season to Injury. Last year in Mid August the Sweet Home star injured his elbow and had to sit out the year recovering from surgery.
This means more of the workload will shift to Devon Campbell who was out last week after getting banged up against the Bears. Campbell is a distinctly different style of running back than Johnson and UB's starter Anthone Taylor.
This may also mean that UB freshman Zach Nicholas sees the field a bit more than he otherwise would have. Nicholas received some reps late in last weeks win over Norfolk State.
