After a successful summer league showing that saw him score six points, pull down six rebounds, and block over one shot a game former UB forward Mitchell Watt will be attending the Golden State Warriors preseason camp. When the Israeli team Ness Ziona offered Watt a contract last week but the Arizona native told them that he was camping in the NBA.
The team also tried to extend Mitchell Watt (@iamwatt_21) contract, but the player got an invitation to the @warriors training camp

Watt confirmed this with Buffalo Assistant AD Jon Fuller while visiting campus today.
Ran into former UB basketball standout Mitchell Watt today. He told me he will be going to preseason camp with the Golden State Warriors.

Propelled by a senior season at Buffalo in which he averaged 16.3 points, 7.5 rebounds Watt completed his time at UB with more than a thousand career points. His senior season also saw him named the Mid American Conference Player of the Year. In April 2012, after the Bulls lost in the second round of the CIT tournament, Watt went on to impress NBA scouts at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. There was real Buzz that he might get drafted but it was not to be.
After going undrafted he played summer ball with Memphis, afterwards he signed to play Ball in Israel coming back last summer for another summer league session, this time with the Lakers. After one more year in Israel Watt was given a chance with Golden State and showed well enough to get a preseason invite.
Good luck to Watt as he tries to make the final roster.
