Buffalo Bulls vs. Duquesne Dukes football: Game time, TV schedule, radio and more

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Spor

It's finally here! The long seemingly unending gap between the UB Baseball season coming to an end and the Kickoff of football is has run its course. Today, at 3:30 the Buffalo Bulls will be taking on the Duquesne Dukes in their season opener. UB has high hopes of starting a second consecutive winning campaign while the Dukes look to be counted among the FCS teams that knock off a Bowl Sub Division opponent.

The last and only meeting between the two teams came in 1991, when both schools were Division three entities. The Bulls won the game 49-0 behind 266 rushing yards by Alan Bell.

Buffalo has not dropped a game to an FCS team since Lehigh spoiled the Bulls opener back in 2002. Since then the UB is 5-0 against teams from the Championship Subdivision. Including a grueling five overtime affair against Stony Brook last season.

Buffalo has to find a way to win without the slew of seniors who graduated last season, seven of those players ended up in NFL camps. What UB does have is junior quarterback Joe Licata who is behind the same offensive line that took UB to a bowl game last season.

The Dukes have a hot shot quarterback of their own in Dillon Buechel. Last season, as a freshman, he set school records for passes attempted (373) and completed (217). On top of that he threw for 2,569 yards.
