Javon McCrea works out with the Chicago Bulls

According to multiple people on twitter Javon McCrea is worked out with the Chicago Bulls, the player who some see as a second round selection has more workouts with NBA teams later this week.

This past season was named an honorable mention All American, the Mid American Conference Player of the Year and an All-MAC First Team selection for the third straight year. In his first year under New UB coach Bobby Hurley the Newark product had what was perhaps his best season.

McCrea averaged 18.5 points and 9.9 rebounds per game and was named the MAC East Player of the Week three times this year. On three occasions "The Kraken" (as we here at Bull Run call him) went over the 30-point, including a career-high 34 points in a senior day victory over Bowling Green.

Those numbers lifted McCrea over the top as he became the schools all-time leading scorer. He finished his UB career with 2,004 points and 988 rebounds.  Earlier this week McCrea was named a finalist for the Lou Henson Award which is the CollegeInsider top mid-major player. McCrea is one of 30 players to be nominated for the award.
