Buffalo and Rutgers came out of the second inning with three runs each but neither team could manage to plate a batter during the rest of the regular session. The game moved to extra innings where the Scarlet Knights would put in 3 runs during the top of the tenth sending Buffalo to it's second straight loss.

Things started out sloppy for both pitchers. Both teams were hitting batters and walking in runs during the first inning. After Rutgers scored two in the top of the first Matt Pollock, Richards, and Mautner were hit, walked, and hit in order setting the plate for Mike Burke who singled in UB's first run and loading the bases. UB would score 2 more in the inning on two more Rutgers Walks.
The Knights would tie the game in the top of the second and then things slowed down for both teams.
In the bottom of the 9th Dudek hit a lead off single and was moved to second on a Scarcello sacrifice bunt. Sadly for the Bull Sinay struck out followed by a Matt Pollock fly to center.
Extra innings was not kind to Cory Folk who surrendered a lead off single, then after a sac bunt another single followed by a triple. Kaelin came in to stop the bleeding but by then UB had dug itself into a hole from which it could not escape.
