Last week the Buffalo Bulls gave away not one but two baseball games which would have put their RPI among the top 100. This week they will have three more chances against quality competition. With MAC play just a week away UB could use one or two quality wins to boost their confidence and pad the conferences resume.
Date | Opponent | Record | RPI | Time |
---|---|---|---|---|
Fri. 14 | Rutgers | 5-8 | 41 | 2:00 PM |
Sat. 15 | VCU | 12-3 | 40 | 4:00 PM |
Sun. 16 | Lafayette | 5-4 | 109 | 10:00 AM |
The Bulls lead off against the '5-8 Rutgers Scarlet Knights. They have played a pretty tough schedule this season so their near 500 mark is impressive. They started the season with a tough four game skid against FIU but since then are playing better than 500, including their current two game win streak against Oklahoma and Hofstra.
Virginia Commonwealth is hosting the weekends games and the 12-3 Rams will be UB's second opponent. They have ripped through a lot of decent teams but don't have any great signature victories.
Finally UB takes on the Lafayette Leopards. Lafayette opened the season up with a trio of losses to VMI, a team UB split with two weeks ago. Since those losses they are 5-1 and fresh off a sweep of the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights.
If UB stays the course the presumptive starting pitchers this week are Mike Mcgee, Anthony Magovney, and Mike Burke.
