Yesterday Buffalo learned, the hard way, that a single bad inning in the field can ruin what should have been a big upset on the diamond. UB took that knowledge today and played a clean game in the field against Western Carolina. The 5-4 decision lifts UB's overall record to 7 wins against two losses.

The Catamounts came into the contest 8-3 with an RPI which was under twenty. As a team they had been putting up very impressive numbers but struggled yesterday against Northern Florida. They had trouble getting going against the Bulls today and made a few fielding errors which Buffalo turned into the difference making runs.
With two outs an error allowed Matt Pollock to get on base. The next batter, Tyler Mautner, hit a double to center field making it a 1-0 UB game. In the second Mike Burke would single to lead off and after a strikeout the Catamounts would walk three straight to score Burke and make the score 2-0.
The teams each traded two runs in the third to make the score 4-2.
Nick Sinay's Wild 4th Inning!
In the 4th inning Nick Sinay would be the hearo of the game. His one out single wsa followed by a steal, then another base on a failed pickoff attempt. Finally a wild pitch let Sinay score. The run ended up being the game winner.
Western Carolina would make it tight by adding a run in the seventh and in the ninth but Ben Hartz forced a lineout to first to earn the save for Buffalo.
