Despite some play in with the Grizzlies in the summer league Mitchell Watt did not make it straight to the NBA out of College. Watt instead went overseas to play with Hapoel Gilboa Galil in north-east Israel. That setback might seem significant but for a player who nearly saw his playing days end at the hands of Guillain-Barre such a setback was just a bump in the road.
Propelled by a senior season in which he averaged 16.3 points, 7.5 rebounds Watt completed his time at Buffalo with more than a thousand career points and he earned MAC Player of the Year honors. In April of 2012, after the Bulls lost in the second round of the CIT tournament, Watt went on to impress NBA scouts at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.
Watts been averaging just over ten points a game, nearly five rebounds, and one and a half blocked shots overseas. That seems to have been enough for Watt to get another crack at the NBA.
