Buffalo coughed away a great chance to move into the upper half of the conference when they let the Akron Zips rally from a 20 point deficit last Saturday. Now they will be tested by a Central Michigan team which is also bordering on the MAC's basement.
If Buffalo is to turn this season something other than a dumpster fire this is the kind of game that UB simply can not lose.
The Chips are down.
Not that CMU has been a power of late but last year they had the potential to be modestly threatening on any divin night. Now they fired Ernie Zeigler, his son Trey Zeigler, their best player left. Several other key players also left.
Keno Davis, fresh a three year stint at Providence, coaches a team which is heavily dependent on the shooting of Kyle Randall. The senior transfer is shooting better than 40 percent from the field and tallies 16 points a game. More impressively he is shooting almost 90 percent from the foul line, is close to a 1:1 turnover to assist ratio, and has nearly four rebounds a game.
Buffalo is starting to see an emerging cast of players start to emerge from the shadow of Javon McCrea. Jarryn Skeete, Will Regan, and Tony Watson II have all managed some solid games lately making Buffalo an offensively threatening team.
