University at Buffalo junior linebacker Khalil Mack has been suspended for next week's season opener at Georgia but has been reinstated to the football team, the school announced Friday.

Even with Mack winning against Georgia is a one in a thousand proposition but without him the defense will find it that much harder to make the big plays needed for such an epic upset.

UB Men's Soccer ties the Griffs

Playing in front of a crowd of over 1500, the Buffalo men's soccer team opened up its season Friday evening at Demske Sports Complex with a heated rivalry match against Canisius. After allowing an early goal to the Griffs, the Bulls evened the score on a Richard Craven goal in the 31st minute equalized it. The team's played to a 1-1 tie after a pair of overtime periods.

Buffalo volleyball opens up

The University at Buffalo volleyball team began its 2012 campaign on Friday, splitting its two matches on the opening day of the UB Invitational. The Bulls defeated Canisius in their opener, 3-1, before falling to San Jose St. in the nightcap by the same score. For Buffalo, today's action was the first for its six-member freshman class.
