November 1, 2003 - Buffalo 29 - Toledo 56 - Pelz Sets UB Kicker Record
The 1-9 2003 Bulls scored less then 17 points in all but two of their 10 games. Against Toledo, Dallas Pelz scored 17 points on his own. Pelz opened the game's scoring with a 50-yard field goal. The score tied Pelz's career high and was the 7th longest field goal in School history (now 8th).
After Jared Patterson Put UB up 9-7, Pelz scored his 4th point of the day with the extra point. Pelz scored his 7th point after kicking a 44-yard field goal in the beginning of the second quarter to bring the Bulls within one, 14-13. Pelz then answered two Toledo touchdowns with two field goals from 42 and 47 yards out. This gave Pelz 13 points and brought UB within 9, 28-19 with 3 minutes remaining in the half. The two teams traded touchdowns again before the end of the half with another Jared Patterson touchdown run leading to Pelz's 14th point of the day.
UB continued to fall behind by kicking field goals against Toledo touchdowns. A Trinity Dawson touchdown put Toledo up 42-26, which was answered by Pelz's record setting 17th point, a 39-yard field goal. That would be the last points for UB on the day, and they fell 56-29 to the Rockets. Pelz went 5-5 on the day, closing one of the best kicking seasons in UB history. Pelz lead the team with 57 points, went 14/17 (82%) on field goals and 15/16 (94%) on extra points.
