Buffalo is playing postseason basketball for just the third time as a Division I program. The Bulls played in the National Invitation Tournament in 2005 and the College Basketball Invitational in 2009. They face Quinnipiac of the Northeast Conference.

The Bobcats lost to Robert Morris, 64-62, in the semifinals of the Northeast Conference Tournament. They are led by James Johnson who leads the team in scoring (16.1ppg) and NEC player of the year Justin Rutty who has four double doubles in the last six games.

While the second had of the season was filled with disappointment for UBFans playing in the CIT is no slap in the face. The Bulls are a rather young team and return a solid core next year. The extra practice and game time for players like Javon McCrea and Jarron Oldham coul dbe invalueable.

Should the Bulls manage to get out of the first and second rounds there is a shot at playing som top 100 RPI teams in the later rounds of the tournament.
