Before UB
It isn’t easy to find stats on Onwuka’s basketball endeavors before UB. In fact, her track and field performances — which she holds several school records at Lake Forest Academy — dominate a simple google search. What can be found is that Onwuka averaged a hefty 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists per game as a Junior. Theresa hails from Nigeria and made her way to the States thanks to WorldPlayer ID. When arriving, she made her way to Lee Academy — which former men’s player Rodell Wigginton came from — before moving on to Chicago.

“I like her post moves, the way she handles the ball, her shot,” Onwuka said of the 6-foot forward. “Her all-around game … it’s great. She works hard on the court. To be able to watch her play [in person], that would be the best day of my life.”

"That girl (Onwuka) is tough. She was a handful. We went to a box and one but they handled it pretty well. They had some secondary kids hit shots."

2016-17 Outlook
From everything I read, Onwuka is definitely a good fit for Coach Jack’s program but for now she will have a smaller role. Women’s hoops is loaded with guards at the moment but Onwuka could definitely sneak her way into the rotation.
