Buffalo Women's Basketball moves to 5-0 with comeback win over UCF

UB Athletics

UCF managed a season-best 60 points against Buffalo's stingy defense this afternoon in Orlando, but Women's Basketball found a season high 66 themselves thanks to four players in double digits and used a dominant fourth quarter to claim a come-from-behind win and move to 5-0 on the year.

Katherine Ups, who has been a revelation at forward so far, led UB with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Stephanie Reid, Joanna Smith, and Karin Moss combined for 42 more points, including 19 in a fourth quarter that saw Buffalo shoot 3-4 from distance and six separate ties. The Bulls won the final stanza 22-14 and led the final 2:39 after a Moss three-pointer.

UB led 16-11 after the first quarter but lost the lead late in the second and trailed for the entirety of the third, but held UCF to 2-14 shooting in the fourth quarter though the Knights shot 35.7% from the field for the rest of the game.

UB's 5-0 start is their best since 2000, when the Bulls began the season on an 8-0 run. They take on Clemson tomorrow afternoon.
