Someone asked on Twitter...

What is the class of 2019 up to, in pro sports

Here is the answer:

Football: (Players who last played in the 2018 season)

Tyree Jackson ( XFL - Starting QB, DC Defenders ) - Jackson failed to make it in the NFL last year, his athletic talent was not enough to overcome the raw aspects of his game with which we were all so familiar. Maybe another year in the NCAA would have helped with that, maybe not.

Fortunately for Jackson the XFL came along and he was picked up as a backup. During the coronavirus shortened season however Jackson eventually supplanted Cardale Jones, starting the last game of the season and taking his team to victory.

James O’Hagan ( XFL - Backup Center, DC Defenders ) - O’Hagan also earned a spot in DC and while he was mostly a backup he did get a lot of time in during games. Unfortunately he hurt in the last game of the season and put on IR before the league shuttered.

Chuck Harris ( NFL - Defensive End Jacksonville Jags Practice Squad )

Anthony Johnson ( NFL - Wide Receiver, Pittsburgh ) - Johnson spent the summer in Tampa as an UDFA, the season in San Diego on their practice squad, and then was signed to a futures contract by Pittsburgh in January.

Cam Lewis (NFL - DB - Buffalo ) - Lewis was signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent and looked good during a stint in preseason. He was waived near the end of August and signed to the practice squad the next day. Finally he was signed a reserve/future contract with the Bills on January 6, 2020.

Men’s Basketball (players who graduated after 2018-2019 season)

Dontay Caruthers (INT - Jena / German) - Dontay is noiw playing with Science City Jena in Germany. Prior to heading to Germany, Dontay played for the Agua Caliente Clippers in the NBA G League.

CJ Massinburg ( NBAG - Long Island Nets ) - Massinburg signed with the Brooklyn Nets then in october, the Nets waived him and eventually added CJ to the roster of their \G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets.

Nick Perkins (INT - Niigata / Japan ) - Perkins played well for the Lakers G-League team but that was overshadowed when he lost his cool and ripped off Mitchell Robinson during a game and got ejected.

Montell McCrea (INT - Sudbury / Canada ) - McCrea ended up in Sudbury Canada

Jeremy Harris ( INT - ASE / Hungry ) - After going undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft, Harris signed with Atomerőmű SE of the NB I/A

Womens Baksketball

Cierra Dillard ( INT - Mann Filter / Spain ) - After shots with Minnesota and Los Angeles in the WNBA didn’t land in a roster spot Dillard opted to continue her career in Europe.

Courtney Wilkins ( INT - Frankston / Australia ) - She wasted no time after graduating from Buffalo, joining the Blues mid-season following her graduation.
