Don’t look now but we still have rooting interest in the NFL playoffs.
A certain UB Alumni who plays linebacker and wears 52 is playing this weekend, trying to help lift his team into the conference championship round.
That linebacker is Demone Harris, who started the year with Tampa before being put on their practice squad.
He was picked up by Kansas City mid way through the season and has worked his way into a regular sport for the Chiefs. He’s totaled four tackles though three games played this year.
After walking onto the team in 2013 Harris worked his way into a reserve position (2014) and then into the starting lineup, starting seven games, in his Sophomore year (2015).
In his junior season he played in all 12 games and started 11 at defensive end. When all was said and done he racked up 30 tackles and ranked third on the team with three sacks…
Harris completed his UB career with an all conference season. He lead the Bulls in tackles for loss with 9.5 and sacks with five. To that number he added 55 tackles and a pair of forced fumbles.
