The key basket may have come from Summer Hemphil who’s layup put UB’s lead back to 10 and stopped the run by Kent.

Inside a minute Kent would get back to within 7 but Dillard was solid from the free throw line as UB iced away the conference win.

The Women are now 8-2 in MAC play, a half game behind Ohio in the East, the travel to Bowling Green to take on the Falcons on Wedneday

Men stumble out of the gate but surge

If you tuned in with eight minutes left in the first you would have been treated to a 32-14 Central Michigan lead. The Bulls were sluggish on defense and the offense was inconsistent.

Then Jeremy Harris hit a three and the Bulls ripped off a 24-6 run to ties the game. The Chips would close out the first with 5 points, including a technical foul against CJ Buckets.

The second half was all UB as the Bulls scored 52 points and an aggressive defense held the Chips to 33, forcing a handfull of shot clock violations along the way.

CMU was behind most of the half, though at a couple of points they managed to close to within 3, but UB fiinished the game on a 13-2 run.

UB will return to the road on Tuesday night when it begins a two-game road trip at Akron. The Bulls have had some trouble on the road lately and games against Akron and Toledo could be a real test.
